Gorgeous Rimi Sen will play a double role in a film by debutant director Rakesh Sarang.The movie, titled Horn Ok Please , is a situational comedy with Nana Patekar in the lead role. Muzammil Ibrahim (who made his debut in Dhoka ) also has a substantial part.
And Rimi Sen plays a double role. She is cast opposite both Nana and Muzammil.Rakesh Sarang, who has worked in TV serials in the past, says the movie will not have slapstick humour but it will be a situational comedy with many twists and turns.The movie has Nana Patekar playing a truck driver. The phrase, ‘Horn Ok Please’, is normally painted on the rear of the heavy vehicles like trucks and buses in India.Director Sarang believes Patekar is among the finest actors in Indian industry. He also believes Rimi has a lot of untapped potential.Apart from this movie, Rimi Sen is also acting in De Taali , which is a youth flick revolving around four friends.

Not that Rimi’s giving up on comedies completely. After a ribtickling beginning in films, actress Rimi Sen wants a reel change. Her latest flick, Shriram Raghavan’s thriller, promises something different. Ever since I saw Ek Haseena Thi, I was very keen to work with Shriram Raghavan. When I heard that he was making a film, I called him up and said that I wanted to work with him. It has turned out to be quite a change for me, grins Rimi. Not that Rimi’s giving up on comedies completely. She has E Niwas’s De Taali, a young comedy with no vulgar scenes or dialogues with double meaning, coming up. Of late, most of her screen outings have been in comedies ( Hungama, Deewane Huye Pagal and Phir Hera Pheri ). Has her comic timing been instrumental in her getting those films? I don’t think I have good comic timing. I guess I got those films because I started my career with one, she says modestly. Rimi started off as a music video model for Euphoria, and moved on to do a cola ad with Aamir Khan. Today she has worked with some of the top banners, so is she content? I think Hungama was the turning point of my life. Now it feels good, but I have a long way to go. I want to do something that gives me creative satisfaction. Comedy is fine, but I want a challenging role, she elaborates. Rimi is very clear about not showing skin in films. I am not comfortable. I haven’t done that in any of my films, except Dhoom. Not in real life but in her forthcoming movie ‘Hattrick’, Rimi Sen plays a fan of Indian cricket star Mahendra Singh Dhoni.The movie, directed by Milan Luthria , is releasing at a time when the cricket euphoria is at its high due to the World Cup in the Caribbean.

Hat Trick tells the story of few characters whose lives revolve around cricket. The film has Rimi Sen playing the love interest and wife of actor Kunal Kapoor . She has no interest in cricket until she gets married to Kunal. Thereafter, she becomes a huge fan of Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Indian wicketkeeper and hard hitter of the ball). And her obsession for Dhoni becomes a regular annoyance for her husband.Rimi says the movie’s director initially wanted her to play a Sachin Tendulkar fan. But she refused.

Rimi and Karan Nath are not an item … Or that’s what the Pheri Hera Pheri actress insists, even as rumours of the two seeing each other gather pace.

Actress Rimi Sen is surprised that she’s being linked to actor Karan Nath (son of producer and star secretary Rikku Rakesh Nath). Nath has acted in Pagalpan, Tum and LoC, and has apparently known Rimi since a long time. The two are said to be going around, but Rimi insists otherwise. We chatted up with her to find out whether there is any truth to the buzz.

Are you seeing Karan Nath?
It is ridiculous to link me up with Karan. I hardly know him. I was surprised when I read in a newspaper that I am going around with Karan. There were even stories of our break-up. But that’s not true. When there was no relationship, how can there be a break-up?

But from what it’s been reported, you bump into Karan every now and then…
That’s not true again. We share the same gym and hence we are bound to meet. But our timings are different. Yes, occasionally we do bump into each other, but that doesn’t mean that we are having a relationship or that we purposely do it.

But you do know his father very well…
I won’t say that I know him very well, but I just know him. But then you have to understand that it is a small circle and you do meet people every now and then. Rikkuji has fetched me work before; so I knew him.

Do you miss not being a part of Dhoom II?
I have heard that the guys (cast) had a great time (laughs). They’ve been shooting in outdoors lately. I would have loved to be in the movie, but there was no role. I am not feeling left out though – why should I be? I know they couldn’t have fitted in a role for me, because simply there could be none.

Rimi Sen's latest Movie - Golmaal

Golmaal - Fun unlimited succeeds in its sincere attempt to make people laugh.

Rohit Shetty must be congratulated for making a comedy successfully. His astute direction of the movie is marked by few factors. He retains the tough image of Ajay Devgan and yet adds a comic touch to his character. Arshad Warsi is allowed to be as fluent as possible. If Sharman Joshi is affable as a guy comically torn between his conscience and the pull of his friends to be an accomplice in their misdeeds, Tussar Kapoor is hilarious as a mute.

Gopal (Ajay Devgan), Lucky (Tusshar Kapoor), Mahadev (Arshad Warsi) and Laxmi (Sharman Joshi) - the four good for nothing guys are quite shameless about their ways of scheming and swindling. They are unashamed of their selfishness too.

The gang of four descends on the bungalow of Paresh Rawal and Sushmita Mukherjee that are a blind and aged couple. They act as their grand son Samir who stays in the USA.

To add to the trouble the four guys fall in love with the same girl Nirali (Rimi Sen). It's a riot of fun when the four don't let a single chance go by to pull each other's legs to win Nirali's love. Mukesh Tiwari as vasooli and Manoj Joshi as the dean are gullible time and again.

There are many hilarious scenes in the movie worth mentioning - the appearance of Sattu Supari just at the time when Arshad Warsi and Sharman Joshi execute the plans to knock off Ajay Devgan. Instead of Ajay Devgan being the victim Sattu Supari becomes the victim each time.

Another example of directorial excellence in comedy is the flashback scenes where a young Paresh Rawal runs behind a young Sushmita Mukherjee. The dialogs, the song and the shots of that scene are exactly like that of movies in the 40s and 50s.

Golmaal has perfect comic timing, reasonably good jokes and an emotional plot. Spending a few hours this weekend to watch the movie will be a worthy investment of time and money. Truly, Golmaal delivers fun...unlimited.

Chopra, Firoz Nadiadwala and UTV. She was last seen in the hit film Phir Hera Pheri and now she is all set to sizzle in her forthcoming film Golmaal. Here’s a one on one exclusive chat with Rimmi Sen.

Tell us about Golmaal
Golmaal is about these four nalayak guys, who stay at an old couple’s place. I am their neighbor, who is a frequent visitor to their place. These four guys are behind me and try to woo me. However, there is no serious romantic angle in the film as they just try to flirt with me.

What made you to sign up for this film?
I always wanted to work with Ajay Devgan and Rohit Shetty.

How did you bag this movie?
I was supposed to do a film with Ashtavinayak (producers). I had signed one project for them but it didn’t happen. Then this project came along and they called me for this film.

How is Rohit Shetty as a director?
I always wanted to work with him ever since I saw his first film Zameen. I feel he is technically a very smart director. He is a very sensible guy to work with and has got a lot of patience. He never shouts at anyone and respects everyone. Basically he is a very cool kind of a person and I would love to work with him again.

How was it working with your co-stars; Ajay, Arshad, Tusshar and Sharman?
Well, Ajay is a prankster and if he wouldn’t be there in the film then Golmaal would be a damn boring film. I am very comfortable working with him. I have worked with many senior actors before but I was never so comfortable with anyone except Ajay. I was his partner in pranks that he used to play on everyone. But when it comes to work, he is very serious and professional. My other co-stars Arshad, Sharman and Tusshar are like young guys. We all were like young college students and all of us had fun.

How was the whole experience of Golmaal like?
Golmaal will always be a special film for me because I enjoyed a lot with the rest of the cast and crew. The unit was so good that everyone came down with their families. I never felt like I am working for a movie, rather I always felt that I am working for a home production.

Bengali bombshell Rimi Sen is more than creating Dhoom in Bollywood these days. She is among those talented actresses who have created her own space in Bollywood. Very few are aware of this fact that this dusky doll’s glamorous on screen image is different from her real life.

Being one of the stylish actresses, Rimi loves to create her own style. She says, “I don’t follow any trend or style. Rather than that I create my own style. I normally don’t pick up things randomly. I am quite choosy while shopping. I am a brand freak and select few but only branded stuff. Mango, DKNY and D&G are among my favorite brands.”

Rimi loves to shop for herself rather than shopping for family and friends. Talking about her favorite shopping destination she says, “Most of the time, I shop from abroad. I buy things only for myself. I never shop for others. I love Versace’s designs but there is no one specific designer I like here in India.”

When asked about her favorite color she says, “It’s Black. I love this color and there is one jacket from my collection which is my favorite. I love to use it again.” According to her, fashion is a balanced combination of comfort and style. “Both things are important for me. I prefer western outfits than Indian. For all those who thought that Rimi Sen didn't sound like herself in Deewane Huye Paagal, you were right on target! Because it indeed is not her voice! The makers decided to get her voice dubbed. When we spoke to Rimi, she had a firm 'No comments' stand on the subject. So we'll leave it at that.

Rimi Sen – doing well for a rookie actress

You may have not seen her in a film after Dhoom last year, but now the beautiful Bengali damsel Rimi Sen will light up the theatres this Diwali.

Rimi has as many as three releases coming up with two of them Garam Masala and Kyon Ki slated to release this Diwali.

Rimi’s third upcoming film Deewane Hue Pagal is scheduled to release on November 25.

Rimi has a special appearance in ‘Garam Masala’. She plays the fiancé of Akshay Kumar , who is a flirt in the movie.

Rimi says she did ‘Garam Masala’ just for Priyadarshan and of course for the producers the Jain brothers (of Venus Films ).

But the role, Rimi says, closest to her heart is the one that she plays in ‘Kyon Ki’, which also stars Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor .

Rimi says about her role in ‘Kyon Ki’, “It’s a great character, something I have never played before. She is shy and simple.”

In her third release of the month, Vikram Bhatt ’s comedy, ‘Deewane Hue Pagal’, Rimi is the solo lead who the three heroes (Akshay, Sunil Shetty and Shahid Kapur ) are in love with.

But Rimi says that her scope doesn’t get limited in multi-starrers because, “It also depends on the kind of roles I am playing. If I think I have no scope, I wouldn’t do it. ‘Dhoom’ was more on John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan , but Esha Deol and I got noticed. When you have a big banner, you need not worry. And, as I am new, I cannot expect to have tailor-made roles. ‘Dhoom’ and before that Hungama were stepping stones in my career.”

So, get ready to see a lot of Rimi in the coming weeks.
